Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's not-for-profit client is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Phoenix, Arizona. This position is 100% in-office and is perfect for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in accounts payable processes. The specialist will play a critical role in managing payables, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Processing full cycle payables.
  • Generate purchase orders and ensure all supporting documentation, approvals, and account coding are complete.
  • Verify accuracy, documentation, coding, and authorization on all invoices.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements to keep accounts accurate and current.
  • Process new vendor setups, including obtaining W-9 forms.
  • Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Manage weekly payment runs-print and distribute checks, upload electronic payments, and send remittances to vendors.
  • Assist with external audits and the single audit process.
  • Contribute to special projects and support general accounting tasks as needed.

The work is performed in an office environment with shared workspaces.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite software is preferred.
  • Not-for-profit industry experience preferrred.
  • Commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.

Required Work Hours

The position requires working full-time hours, Monday through Friday, during standard business hours.

Benefits

Compensation for this role ranges from $24.00 to $27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
